    Sebastien is a senior executive with over 30 years of experience in the local government sector and in managing large organizations.

    Sebastien has a very practical experience of working with senior public sector officials, NGOs, multilateral organizations, and the private sector.

    He designed and directed large multi-million projects in Canada, and over 45 countries in Latin America and the Caribbean, Africa, Eastern Europe, the Middle East, and Asia.

    Prior to founding Nexus , he managed the program division at the Federation of Canadian Municipalities (FCM), a department of 200+ employees in Canada and overseas.

  • Michael Wodzicki

    PARTNER

    Michael is an executive with over 20 years of experience designing capacity building and funding programs in Canada and around the world.

    He has long experience designing and operationalizing strategic plans, coordinating and facilitating policy development processes, as well as developing and implementing strategies for non-profits organizations and charities.

    He has advised a federal Canadian cabinet minister and worked for national organizations and associations in the municipal, cooperative, civil society, and not-for-profit sectors.

  • Valentina Canales Burke

    RESEARCHER

    Valentina is a graduate student at the Norman Paterson School of International Affairs, specializing in International Organizations and Latin American Studies.

    She has engaged in numerous research projects spanning gender equity, environmental sustainability, and youth empowerment. She is particularly committed to the inclusion of youth in local and international governance spheres.

    She has also held positions at the Treasury Board of Canada Secretariat in Internal Audit, Service Canada in Communications, and Carleton University in Public Relations.

    Suzanne Belliveau is a practitioner with more than 17 years of experience in the fields of international development and humanitarian action.

    She has designed and managed single- and multi-country projects in complex contexts, including conflict and crises in many regions of the world, with a focus on Latin America and the Caribbean.

    With expertise in results-based management and qualitative research, she works with Nexus to accompany organizations in developing strategies, designing impactful projects, obtaining funding, and demonstrating achievements.

  • Alexandra Gilbert


    Alexandra has over 20 years of experience in design and managing large-scale social development projects in the private sector, non-profit organizations, and within the Canadian and Quebec public service.

    Internationally, she has worked in several countries, including Afghanistan, Pakistan, Mali, Burkina Faso, Morocco, Vietnam, and Indonesia, focusing on themes of equality, inclusion, and diversity.

    Her collaboration with Nexus involves assisting organizations in securing funding, including identifying funding programs and researching/writing content for responses to calls for proposals or developing complex and multidisciplinary project proposals.

  • Emily Pearson


    Emily has over 12 years of experience in monitoring, evaluation, and continuous learning.

    She has worked with various national and international organizations leading organizational monitoring and evaluation (M&E) processes and strategies, designing and implementing large multi-country M&E systems and managing mid-term reviews and evaluations.

    She collaborates with Nexus to design and implement logic models and performance measurement frameworks, data collection tools (surveys, interviews, focus groups, literature reviews, case studies, etc.), and M&E plans and frameworks.

    Hadeel is an executive with 20 years of experience in designing, managing and implementing international funded projects in the fields of democracy, local governments and human rights in the Middle East.

    Hadeel is a specialist in supporting local civil society organizations to engage and mobilize communities.

    She works with Nexus to design and develop gender mainstreaming strategies and tools.
